Surrey County Golf Union, Surrey Ladies County Golf
Association together with NIKE GOLF have announced a new
major initiative for young and aspiring golfers. The
NIKEGOLF 2008 ROOKIETOUR has been launched to identify and
develop the competitive experience of Surrey's Under 14 age
group golfing talent.
The
aims of the Tour are to
Act as a bridge to the
mainstream junior opens
Provide a competitive
element appropriate to age
To give competitive
experience outside of Clubs
Build team spirit and
friendship within their peer group
Give an entry route to
competition for the under 10’s
Allow identification of
talent and form for Surrey coaching
Provide fun through
structured practice, par 3 and limited hole competitions
The tour has been
divided into 3 age groups
Under 10s
Under 12s
Under 14s
Tees and courses
will be picked according to age and ability and each
Junior's progress can be monitored through an Order of
Merit.
